SOFIA KAMAN
DESIGNER, ARTIST, GEMOLOGIST
From her childhood dreams of life as a treasure hunter, Sofia Kaman’s curiosity for ancient objects paved the way for an inspired career as an award-winning jewelry designer and passionate antiques collector.
Sofia began her studies in Art History, and made her way to Jewelry Design, and Gemology. From the mesmerizing architectural motifs of gothic churches to the jeweled colors of miniature Indian paintings, the details and allure of old world style has long captivated her heart.
Upon discovering the art of wax-carving, Sofia knew it was the perfect medium for combining her love for art, gems and history in the creation of modern heirlooms.
The fusion of antique and modern references, the finest in sustainable materials and the desire for stylish wearability have long provided the spark in Sofia's work and the vision that drives the SKFJ brand.

At Sofia Kaman, we are passionate about using ethical and sustainable materials in all that we do. As part of our mission we use recycled gold and metals in all our designs.

The beauty of antique stones does not stop with their glistening facets. Because they are already in circulation, their is no new environmental cost and make a one of a kind, sustainable choice. All of our stones, both antique and modern, are sourced through trusted suppliers who abide by the Kimberley Process and guarantee their stones to be conflict-free.
LAB GROWN DIAMONDS
Same sparkle as natural diamond, different origin. Lab Grown Diamonds from Diamond Foundry, are grown with renewable energy, have a zero carbon footprint and cut to ideal standards. A beautiful, eco-freindly choice for serious sparkle lovers.

THE BESPOKE PROCESS
Custom work is a specialty of ours! Whether it's creating the perfect engagement ring or revamping a lonely gem that sits in your jewelry box, we love collaborating with our clients to create unique and personalized pieces.
All of our pieces are made with love in Los Angeles, and take about 4-8 weeks to create from start to finish.
This exciting process begins with a design consultation (in person or virtually) where we discuss your inspiration, goals, and put together a design plan.
Based on the type of project, we then source gems within your specifications and create either a physical wax model or a digital CAD rendering for you to review. Once approved, your design goes into production, cast with recycled metals, and is set and finished by our team of artisan jewelers in our Santa Monica atelier.

Every diamond and gem in our collection is hand-picked and one of a kind. All pieces in our showroom are available for purchase, though many clients use these pieces as inspiration to help build their own bespoke design.
We seek out rare diamonds and gems with an eye towards antique, lab grown and salt and pepper options. Unusual shapes and colors make our hearts race, and Sofia is always on the hunt for the most uncommon “unicorns” to create your dream ring!

We believe jewelry serves as a powerful token representing love, connection, and important moments in our lives.
The Seeds of Change Project was born in 2020 from our desire to create social good from our passion for jewels. Since its launch our small business makes regular contributions to organizations including:
